The Diocese of Khammam comprises the entire revenue district of Khammam. This territory was bifurcated from the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of Warangal diocese by Pope John Paul II, by the Papal Bull "ad perpetua, rei memoriam" dated January 22, 1988 and published on February 11, 1998.
