Jessy Kurian Appointed To National Minority Panel

DELHI, MAR. 24, 2008 (CBCI News):
Sister
Jessy Kurian belonging to the Sisters of St Ann of Providence,
Secunderabad has been appointed Member of National Commission
for Minority Educational Institutions, Govt of India.
She
will take charge at 11am on 27th March, at the Commission office,
Jeevan Tara Building, Patel Chowk, New Delhi.
Sr
Jessy is presently an advocate in the Supreme Court of India.
Sr
Jessy has been a leading Human Rights activist and has been working
strenuously to provide legal assistance to distressed and marginalised
women.
National Commission
for Minority Educational Institutions is a statutory body constituted
by the UPA Govt. to safeguard and enforce the Minoriy Rights enshrined
in the Constitution of India.
As
a new member in the Commission, Sr Jessy takes the place of Ms.
Vasanthi Stanley who was nominated to Rajya Sabha (House of States).
