Catholic Writer bags Sahithya Academy Award

BANGALORE, July 02, 2009, 18.30 Hrs:

Renowned Kannada – English Catholic Writer P.C.Anthony Swamy who contributes Articles under the pseudonym “Shree Swamy” has been honoured by the Karnataka Sahithya Academy, under the aegis of Govt of Karnataka. His translated treatise titled “Origin of Christianity in and around Srirangapattana” has been adjudged as the best translated work (from Kannada to English) for the year 2007 by the Academy and hence the award.

The original Book in Kannada was written by Rev.Fr.Dr.I.Athappa of Bangalore Archdiocese. The Book Award will be conferred on the Translator at a function to be held later at Jamakhandi. Kudos to Anthony Swamy for bringing glory to Christians and Christianity.
