Bongaigaon Diocese Holds Youth Festival-VII, 2010
BONGAIGAON,

The
7th Diocesan Youth Festival of Bongaigaon Diocese, Assam was
held at St. Aloysius Seminary under Cathedral Parish. More than
800 youths from the diocese and a few from the diocese of Tezpur
took part in the meet. The theme for the festival was “YOUTH
FOR A NEW SOCIETY”. The Bishop of Bongaigaon Thomas Pulloppillil,
who was the chief guest for the festival expressed his joy and
satisfaction at the tremendous response of the youth who attended
the festival.
The participants
had diverse activities such as talks on youth related topics
by different resource persons, group discussions, reporting
and planning of activities at the parish level, spending time
with God in prayer, Taize prayer, etc. There were cultural evenings.
The whole aim of this festival was to bring youth together to
teach them to love Christ, the Church, others and to commit
their life to promote the values of the Gospel
A new executive
body for Bongaigaon Diocessan Youth Commission was elected with
Mr. Denjil Basumatary as President, Miss Pobhita Ekka Vice President
and Mr. Justin Borgoary, Secretary. For many of the youth to
be part of the fest was in itself a unique experience. All the
participants resolved that they would strive to become a role
model for a new society.
