DIMENSIONS- a forum of Christian entrepreneurs and businessmen –started four years ago, has consistently worked to bring together people of different Christian denominations and encouraged and supported them to do business within the community.

Its 4th anniversary was celebrated with prayer and party on Saturday 27th February at Bandra. Fr Anthony Charangat, Editor of THE EXAMINER was the guest of honour. Mr Gul Kripalani, President of Indian Merchant Chamber, Mr Vivek Menedonca, M.D, Lawrence and Mayo and Mr Rajesh Agnelo Atheide and many other prominent Christian businessmen were present.

DIMENSIONS was the dream child of Mr Freddy Mendonca, a staunch Catholic from Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Orlem, Malad who was disturbed by a few pertinent questions:
“Why are we Christians individually rich and collectively poor?
Why do we have no voice to get a choice for us?
Why are we complaining all the time that nothing is happening in the community?”

In his efforts to find an answer he shared his dream with some of his friends, who instantly believed in his dream and supported him. For the past 4 years, the forum has been working hard to inculcate entrepreneurial skills among Christians with the aim of making them collectively rich and a force to reckon with in the Indian business community. Today, DIMENSIONS reckons as a strong force with over 600 members and an investment company – Dimensions Trade and Commerce Ltd – to their credit.

While addressing the gathering, Mr Freddy Mendonca, recalled the challenge of Bishop Percy who told him that he would bless this movement if it could survive for three years. Fr Anthony Charangat in his speech congratulated the forum for living up to their promises and keeping alive the spark he had seen in the group when he met them four years back.

During the anniversary celebration two Christian DIAMONDS (as the members are called) Mr Orwin Noronha and Mr Ralph Pereira who won national awards were felicitated. Mr Orwin Noronha received the ‘ISA Best Electronic Product of the year 2010 Award’ from India Semi-conductor Association for his invention ‘MOZZIQUIT’ – a mosquito trap and Mr Ralph Pereira received the ‘Indian Achievers Award for Industrial Development’ for excellence in the field and contribution towards innovation, growth and development of the Industry.

More than a business group, DIMENSIONS fosters family spirit and camaraderie where the other is not looked upon as a rival businessman but a fellow Christian businessman.
