Festval to Travel to Other Cities in India and Asia

Mother Teresa
International Film Festival which opened in Kolkata on 26th
August came to a close on 29th August at NANDAN-2 with the screening
of the film “The Legacy” by Ann and Jeanette Petrie.
In his
closing remarks Rev Fr. Pierre Belanger S.J. the Director of
the Film “The Making of a Saint” appreciated the
efforts to spread the message of Love and Compassion of Mother
Teresa through the medium of Films.
Fr. Belanger
lauded Mr. Sunil Lucas, Director of MTIFF who along with his
team for making the festival a memorable one.
It is remarkable
that more than thirty thousand people watched the films on Mother
Teresa in The West Bengal Film Centre “NANDAN”.
Mr. Sunil
Lucas thanked the collaborators, the Archdiocese of Kolkata,
Missionaries of Charity, CRS (Catholic Relief Services), UNESCO,
The West Bengal Cultural Ministry (NANDAN) and Signis India
for their support.
He handed
over the Films to Fr. Norbert Herman SVD, the General Secretary
of Signis India as the Festival will travel to various cities
of India and Asia.
The dignitaries
present were the Mother General of Missionaries of Charity Sr.
Prema, Sr. Nirmala, Film Maker Jeanette Petrie, CEO of NANDAN
and Payal Mohanka- director of the film From Saint to Sainthood
and Sunil Jindal the director of the Film The Living Legend.
The young
video journalist’s were appreciated for their commendable
services to make available the live show on the websites.
