• Peter De Souza, father of Mr. Tony De Souza, passed away on April 17, 2005 in New Delhi. He was 86. Funeral on April 18, 2005.
• Pope John Paul II passed away at 21.37 hrs. local time April 02, 2005. He was 84.
• Fr Henry Machado, parish priest of Bajpe, passed away in Mangalore on March 19, 2005 due to kidneys failure. He was 65.
• Fr Louis Fernandes, sj passed away at Mount Joseph Provincial House, Bangalore on March 05, 2005. He was 71.
• Archbishop Samineni Arulappa, Archbishop Emeritus of Hyderabad passes away 13 February 2005. He was 81.
• Fr Augustine N.D, Vicar General of Jhansi Diocese passed away on 10 February 2005. Funeral on 11 February 2005. He was 68.
• Fr Mathew Vengathanam of the diocese of Indore passed away on February 04, 2005 at Indore. He was 62.
• Dr Louella Lobo Prabhu nee Castelino, wife of the late J M Lobo Prabhu, ICS and former MP, passed away on January 31, 2005 in Mangalore, Karnataka. She was 62. 
• Margaret Lobo, wife of the late Thomas Lobo, and mother of Fr Charles Lobo, SDB, passed away on January 30. 2005, at Barkur, Karnataka. She was 92.
• Fr Francis Kiliyanpura, ocd, Commissary General passed on Jan. 27, 2005 in Delhi.
• Praveen Fernandes passed away due to a massive heart attack on January 26, 2005 in Bangalore. He was 46.
• Father Ligoury Castelino, SJ, passed away at a Kohima hospital following a heart attack, January 21, 2005. He was 85. The funeral was held January 23. It was presided over by Bishop Jose Mukala of Kohima.
• Bishop Thaddeus Guo Yingong of Datong, in Mainland China, died on Jan. 21, 2005 after a long illness. He was 88. Thaddeus Guo Yingong was born in 1917 at Xibu in the district of Datong, to non-Christian parents. At age 12 he became a Catholic.
• Cardinal Jan Pieter Schotte, retired Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops, died on January 10, 2005 after a brief illness. He was 76. The funeral was presided over by Pope John Paul II on January 14 in St. Peter's Basilica. Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, dean of the College of Cardinals, celebrated the Mass.
• Father Olavo Velho-Pereira, 55, director of the Archdiocesan Social Communications Centre passed away on Dec. 22, 2004 in Goa. Funeral was held at 4 p.m., Dec. 23, 2004.
• Bishop Longinus G. Pereira, Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Bombay passed away on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004. He was 93.
• Cardinal Juan Carlos Aramburu died on Nov. 18, 2004 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 92.
• Bishop Michael Minj of Gumla Diocese in Jharkhand passed away at 5.30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, 2004. He was 72.
• Cardinal Gustaaf Joos died on October 05, 2004 in Landskouter, Belgium. He was 81.
• Cardinal James Aloysius Hickey, the Retired Archbishop of Washington, D.C. died on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004. The Michgian-born prelate was 84.
• Cardinal Juan Francisco Fresno Larraín, Emeritus Archbishop of Santiago, Chile died on Oct. 14, 2004. He was 90. The Cardinal died in the Chilean capital after a long illness.
• Archbishop Arul Das James of Madras-Mylapore passed away on Aug. 30, 2004, after a prolonged illness.
• Father Chittilapilly, 71, parish priest of Varaprasada Matha (Mother of Grace) Church of Irinjalakuda diocese passed away on Aug. 28, 2004.
